A finely engraved reduced size version of Abraham Ortelius's important map of northeast Asia, the northern Pacific and the North American northwest - essentially the first map to focus on the north west passage. For its time the map was remarkably prescient, being a far more accurate depiction of the region than many produced later. To satisfy the popular demand for printed information, miniature versions of Ortelius' "Theatrum Orbis Terrarum", suitable for carrying in the pocket were produced containing precise reductions of the important original maps. Small wormhole in blank margin. CURRENTLY ON EXHIBITION AT: World Antiquarian Book Plaza, Nihonbashi 2-3-10, Chuo-ku, Tokyo 103-8245 - Consequently delivery may be delayed.
