This beautifully engraved, colourful map of Tartary, with Japan and Northwest America appeared in "Epitome Theatri Orteliani". Antwerp, Philip Galle, 1589, 1595. In the top right hand corner is a small box, with the Latin text: "Tartariae sive magni chami regni typus". The font used on this map is decorative and ornate.
