The Illustrated London News was a weekly publication that utilised a wide selection of woodblock engravings to depict important events of the day.
Founded by Herbet Ingram in 1842 The Illustrated London News became the world’s first pictorial magazine and the Illustrated London News Group is still in existence today.
Some of the best known works included the great views of the Great Exhibition in 1851.
