Nicolas Sanson (1600-1667) is generally acknowledged to be the founder of the the school of French cartographers who supplanted the Dutch as the leading European mapmakers in the mid-seventeenth century. This map was published by Pierre Mariette in 'Tables de Geographie Ancienne et Nouvelle ...' and shows southern Germany from Basle to Augsburg. A good copy with a little original outline colour.
