Nicolas de Fer was a prominent Parisian mapmaker and publisher of the early eighteenth century. One of his most successful works was the "Atlas Curieux". The "Atlas Curieux" was well-known and popular, being expanded in successive editions between 1700 and 1705, and re-edited in 1714 and 1716 under the title "Suite de l'Atlas Curieux". The maps, on a small folio format were boldly engraved and well detailed, and are now quite uncommon. This map shows Bavaria with Munich, Ratisbon and Passau prominent.
