An attractive engraving of the area surrounding London Wall and Coleman Street, which first appeared in William Maitland's "History Of London". With views of the churches St Michael Bassishaw and St Stephen Coleman Street, the latter having been destroyed by the Blitz. Maitland's work was financed by the Court of Aldermen, and accordingly the arms of aldermen Robert Alsop and William Baker appear on this plan with a dedication. Important buildings, including the Bethlehem Hospital (Bedlam) are shown pictorially.
