Franz Johann Joseph von Reilly was an art dealer, mapmaker and publisher renowned for the "Schauplatz Der Dunuf Theile Der Welt Nach Und Zu Anton Friedrich Buschings Grosser Erd Beschreibung", from which this map of comes. The "Schauplatz" was a massive atlas project started in 1789 and lasting 17 years, which eventually included some 830 maps produced weekly. The maps are carefully and consummately engraved with a simple, yet distinctive style. The islands are shown in considerable detail.
