A head and shoulders portrait of Conrad Malte-Brun within a decorative frame. Malte-Brun (1775-1826) was a Danish geographer and publisher who settled in Paris from 1800 and collaborated with the French historian, Edme Mentelle. This portrait was drawn by Cappin, engraved by Walter et Aubert, printed by Gilquin and Dupain, and published by Dufour, Mulat and Boulanger. Malte-Brun is shown surrounded by the tools of his trade and vignette views from around the world.
