An interesting plan of Cony (Cuneo) that was published in Nicholas Tindal's continuation of Rapin De Thoyras' "History Of England" (1744-1777). The atlas primarily contains maps depicting the military actions fought by the English during the campaigns of the War of the Spanish Succession, notably in the Low Countries, but also in Spain, and was also supplemented by a series of contemporary maps - of the countries of the British Isles and parts of the wider world. The map was engraved by Isaac Basire (1704-1768), one of the family of English engravers noted for producing work for the Royal Society of Antiquaries, amongst others. The detailed map includes a key at upper left in a decorative surround. Minor restoration to areas of paper weakness.
