"Bowles's New Pocket Map Of Jamaica, Divided Into It's Parishes, &c. From The Actual Surveys Of Sheffield And Others" with the imprint of Carrington Bowles at St Paul's Church Yard in London. A large inset at lower left shows Port Royal "in which the Different States of the Town are Accurately laid Down". A wonderfully detailed map of Jamaica with the key at lower right identifying the sugar works and "Pens Ginger Coffee & Indigo Settlements" amongst other features. With attractive and delicate hand colour. The map appeared in "Bowles's Universal Atlas: Being A General Collection Of The Most Accurate Maps Of All The Known Countries ... By John Palairet" and as the map's title suggests it would also have been available as separately published, folding map. A fine example.
