A distinctive woodblock engraved map of Roman London where the printing is reversed - white on black. The map was published in London in 1832 in William Pinnock's "The Guide To Knowledge". They were engraved by Joshua Archer and Sidney Hall and appeared in many editions and re-issues of "The Guide To Knowledge" until 1863. The map is numbered XXXII at upper left and has the price of one penny at upper right. The "Guide" was a serialised part work and was relatively inexpensive, thus accessible to many. It is accompanied by two sheets of explanatory text.
