A charming and detailed map of the Pays du Caux in Normandy. Two high-masted ships and a large fish decorate the sea, engraved in a moiré style. Each of the larger towns is distinguished by details of the buildings. Le Clerc was one of the fourth generation of a family of booksellers and printers. Taking refuge in Tours with his family after trouble in Liege, he worked with M. Bouguereau, plates from whose "Theatre" formed the core of his own atlas. Le Clerc died in 1621 or 1622, but his atlas continued to be published after his death, bearing the address of his widow.
