This attractive engraving was produced for Harrison's History of London published in 1775. It shows two of London's more famous theatres at the time, Drury Lane Theatre and the Pantheon. The Drury Lane Theatre is shown in its second incarnation, built in 1674 after the first had burned down on the 25th of January 1672. This building was later demolished in 1791. The Pantheon had recently opened in 1772 and was designed by James Wyatt; it stood on the south side of Oxford street until it was demolished in 1937.
