The map of the ancient world from Abraham Ortelius' classical atlas, the "Parergon". The old world is shown surrounded by an elegant strapwork border within which, at each corner, are circular, modern maps of the four continents. Latin text to verso. An attractive example of this map by one of the most influential and important of early cartographers.
