A charming and scarce "magazine" map, well engraved by a little known London engraver. The map, in typical mid-eighteenth century style has a roccoco title cartouche and a key explaining symbols on the map. The "Universal Museum, or Gentleman's & Ladies Polite Magazine of History, Politicks and Literature ...", first published in 1763, appears to have changed its name, in 1765, to "Museum & Complete Magazine" as described along the top border of the map. According to Jolly, of six copies of the magazine examined only three had this map present - one of those lacking being at the British Library.
