This fascinating map of the ancient world shows Europe, Africa and Asia and the dispersion of mankind from its East Africa origins. It was published in the "Atlas Elementaire Simplifie De Geographie Ancienne Et Moderne" and is based on the theories of Blumenbach, Lynek and Schlosser, delineated here by Professor Soulier. The three foci of the map are the Caucasian, Ethiopian and Mongole races; their dissemination throughout the world is colour coded. An interesting, if less than politically correct, map illustrating French thinking in the mid-nineteenth century. In good condition with wide margins.
