An impressive 3-sheet map of the entire Mediterranean. The map/chart was engraved by Dheulland for the Depot De La Marine, the official French hydrography department and was issued separately, each sheet priced "Cinquante Sols", and in various editions of the "Neptune Francois" under the supervision of Bellin, the leading French chart-maker of the period. The western sheet extends from Gibraltar to Corsica and Sardinia, the central shows Italy and Greece, the eastern shows the Aegean, Asia Minor and Cyprus. This, early example of the sheets, carries the stamp of the Depot De La Marine with an anchor and the initials R.F.
