French text to verso. A fine example of this classic early seventeenth century map of Southern Africa from 10 degrees south to the Cape. The title is given on an animal hide being supported by two Africans in the bottom right hand corner. The land is decorated with a number of animals and there are two ships off the West Coast and one off the Cape.
