Orbis Descriptio : G. Ruscelli

This is a fine, attractive map which appeared in Ruscelli's re-engraving and republication of Ptolemy's "Geographia". It is significant as the first double hemisphere world map to appear in an atlas. This example also is unusual in having early wash colour emphasising areas of the map. A good example of an important map.
