An attractive and uncommon detailed map of the Buttermere, Crummock and Loweswater Lakes, with annotations around and vignette views of local scenes including Rannerdale Knot, Crosthwaite's museum at Keswick, Melbreak and Newlands and Buttermere Mountains. This map, along with others was an amusing product of local self-promotion, having been "Surveyed &c by P.Crosthwaite Admiral at Keswick regatta; who keeps the Museum at Keswick & is Guide, Pilot, Geographer, & Hydrographer to the Nobility and Gentry, who make the Tour of the Lakes". Crosthwaite, of course, also sold the maps at his Museum!
