An attractive and detailed map of south east Asia with Malaya, Sumatra, Java and Borneo well defined and Singapore identified. Nicolas Sanson was the dominant French mapmaker of the period and this map, with its decorative title cartouche at lower left was reissued by other French and Dutch mapmakers over the next 70 years.
