A fascinating detailed look at Chippenham when it consisted of farms, cottages and silk and cloth 'manufactories', three inns and the 'new asylum'. The canal is included, and the medieval heart of the town delineated. The map covers the extent of the town, from Lowden to the Little George in the north, and from Burley Close to Harden's Coppice. The scale is in furlongs and C. Bradbury is the lithographer.
