Unusual allegorical map of the Kingdom of Wisdom. Ten 'satirical or allegorical ' maps appeared in F. J. J. von Reilly's now scarce Atlas von der Moralischen Welt (Vienna, 1802). The atlas consisted of a general overview of the imaginary moral world, and nine regional maps depicting distinct areas of that moral world. Six of von Reilly's maps were later re-engraved by Joseph Hesse, including this one, and reissued in K. Jurende's Mährische Wanderer in 1817. This allegory shows identifies numerous islands set in the "Meer Der Unwis Senheit". Trimmed close the map is laid down.
