A scarce late issue of Emanuel Bowen's attractive and very detailed map of the county of Gloucestershire, prepared for the "Royal English Atlas". The map bears the joint imprint of Laurie and Whittle, Robert Wilkinson and Bowles and Carver. The geography is surrounded by a wealth of historical and topographical detail pertaining to the county as well as a vignette view of the cathedral church of St. Peter in Gloucester. The large title in the lower right corner is set within a suitably rural and foliate surround.
