Originating in Cassell's "Weekly Despatch Atlas" this map by B. Davies went through many editions in the hands of different publishers - as such, it was one of the most successful Victorian map publications. The detailed map shows the county in its two, Western and Eastern, Divisions with towns, villages and newly developing railway system clearly marked. This example, published by G. W. Bacon and Co, has minor reinforcement to centrefold but remains attractive.
