A detailed, attractive map of Surrey, published in "Cary's New and Correct English Atlas", London. John Cary. This finely engraved map was printed from the second of two, seemingly similar plates, produced for the most successful county atlas publication of the period. Cary's "New and Correct ..." had first appeared in 1787 and appeared in five different editions before 1808 when the maps were re-engraved for yet more editions. Typically the map is immensely detailed, finely engraved and attractively coloured.
