A very scarce miniature map of the Isle of Anglesey by Vincenzo Coronelli, one of Europe's leading cartographic figures. Coronelli is best known for his large folio atlases "Atlante Veneto" and "Isolario" and as a globemaker. He was, however, also responsible for the production of numerous smaller publications showing ports, harbours and fortified cities, especially of the eastern half of the Mediterranean - the scene of ongoing conflict between Venice and the Turks. This map appeared in one of his few volumes to extend beyond this focus. Originally printed with three other maps on one sheet, this attractive example is in fine condition with added protective margins where necessary.
