An attractive and clearly presented map of the Holy Land divided into the regions assigned to each tribe. Panels of text border the map and there is a large text panel within the otherwise blank sea area. The map appeared in Chatelain's encyclopaedic "Atlas Historique" an amalgam of geographic, historic and contemporary accounts in which maps and views combined to represent the whole known world.
