This finely engraved and scarce plan/chart of Macao and adjacent islands derived from James Cook's third voyage into the Pacific and northern seas commenced in 1776. Macao was visited, after Cook's death in 1779 on Hawaii, by the ships Resolution and Discovery, having defined much of the North American Pacific coastline, on their journey back to England. This example, has a reinforced blank right margin but appeared in the report's first printed edition.
