A late printing of an attractive and detailed map. First published about 1750, this re-issue is amongst the most out-dated maps to be published, retaining the delineation of California as an Island, around 80 years after the theory was disproved! Panels of text at the right identify the New World's countries against a lettered key and the title cartouche at lower left is bordered by two Amerindian figures. A little surface staining and old inking in the margins but an acceptable and interesting map.
