A large-scale and detailed map from about 70 degrees north depicting the recent explorations of United States expeditions into the Arctic - north of Siberia the route of Lt Cmndr De Long's vessel culminates in the note "crushed by the ice June 12th 1881", extensive activity northwards of Baffin Bay is shown including the Greely expedition, and so on. The map has an engraved date of 1886 but appeared three years later in Bradleys "Atlas Of The World For Commercial And Library Reference". Minor verso reinforcement to negligible paper nicks.
