An early and attractive map of all Cook's discoveries along the east shores of New Holland, as then known. Captain Cook's 1st voyage is referred to at top left and the route of the ship is clearly shown. His explorations and discoveries are shown in good detail in the various insets which make up this composite plate, extending from the north-east tip to southern Tasmania and include enlargements of the area around Botany bay and the Endeavour River. With careful hand-colour a good example of one of the earliest French atlas depictions of Cook's discoveries.
