A large-scale and detailed map of Australia and Tasmania identifying six States and with inset details of New South Wales and the South Australia area around Adelaide. Of particular interest are the tracks of various explorers into the Australian heartland, notably the epic journey of Scotsman John Mcdouall Stuart the first to cross the country from south to north, and return, remarkably given the unforgiving nature of the terrain, without losing a man. Other adventurers are referenced with the eastern side of the continent showing more evidence of interest than the western.
