A wonderfully clear and handsome delineation of the North Pole and surrounding seas southwards to include northern Asia, Europe (including the British Isles), the North Atlantic and Canada. The map is of particluar interest for the many names, with their dates of explorers in the region. The most recently reported are Peary to 1901, Sannikov 1903 and of further interest is the track of nansen's ship, the Fram, with the track of its ice-bound course. The map appeared in the best atlas of the period, Edward Stanford's "London Atlas".
