A detailed and finely engraved general map of India extending, via an inset, to include "British Burma". Published by the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge in their series of world atlases begun in the 1840's, this map appeared, c.1860 published by Thomas Letts. A colour key, at lower left, indicates those currently dominant European powers and the Madras and Bombay Presidencies.
