An elegantly engraved map of the British Isles with a decorative figured titlepiece showing ancient British and Roman figures with a bear-like creature in the foreground. The map appeared in one of several editions of Christoph Cellarius' "Notitia Orbis Antiqui ..." and atlas of maps covering and featuring the ancient world. This map shows the major towns and regions with latinised names as in Roman times and with ancient tribal names.
