A large and very detailed map from one of the most prolific cartographic publishing firms in North America at this time. Wash colouring differentiates national entities and the seas are marked with the tracks of recent explorations and telegraphs - A pencilled track of a specific route can also be seen but is carefully drawn. Despite the precision of much of the cartography areas, in Africa, are still marked "Unexplored Regions". Printed on poor quality paper, this example has had borders backed for conservation purposes - overall fine.
