Very early map of Cuba, Jamaica, the Cayman Islands and part of Hispaniola, from Ruscelli's edition of Ptolemy's Geography. Ruscelli's "modern" maps were based on those of Giacomo Gastaldi, but in a larger format, and published in "La Geografia Di Claudio Tolomeo Alessandrino ...". Although atypically light printing all detail is clearly visible including that showing relief pictorially. Italian text to verso.
