An interesting and very scarce reissue of a map first published about 1885 by George Philip in London. Much up-dated this version carries the sub-title outside the lower border "Gregory's Map of South Africa, Showing the British South Africa Company's Territories and Map of the Transvaal and Frontier". The map shows good detail of the interior with the development of railways reaching out to the goldmining regions around Johannesburg and to Mafeking. Issued as a folding separate publication, the map has been reinforced along those old folds but remains in good condition.
