recent arrival
A very fresh and attractive example of this successful publication published from 1827 for over 30 years in over 20 recorded editions. This example with dates on the slipcase of 1846 and 1845 on the map is dissected, mounted on canvas and folding in a pocket-size slipcase. Extending from St. John's Wood, where the "Cricket Ground" is shown, to Chelsea and Vauxhall and Rotherhithe to St. Pancras and Hoxton, the map is bordered by an extensive listing of major streets and locations keyed to the map by lettered squares. The "New Plan" shows "All The New And Intended Improvements To The Present Time" and shows the rapidly developing railway connections, with major stations marked and, according to the case label, Omnibus routes marked. The map, in bright original colour, folds into a slightly worn but fresh and intact slipcase.
