Elaborately engraved, and very decorative map of Denmark, compiled by Marcus Jordan, and supplied to Braun and Hogenberg by Duke Heinrich Rantzau, to whom the map is dedicated. Jordan, a noted Danish cartographer, had made the first map of Denmark published in that country, and this map is, presumably, a revised and improved version of that. This is the only national map to appear in the six volume 'Civitates Orbis Terrarum' and is one of the most sought after of the country. Margin close at bottom, just cutting into neatline at the top, nevertheless an attractive example.
