A very decorative map of the roads of South West England from Bath and Salisbury to Land's End. A. E. Taylor's series first appeared in 1932 as promotional posters for Pratt's Motor Oil Company and were re-issued after that compnay's takeover by Esso at slightly reduced scale in 1936 in "Pictorial Britain and Ireland ..." This map is covered with vignettes and small panels of text, including literary quotations, illustrating and describing major towns and landmarks along the roads.
