An attractive view from the sea of the estuary and approach to Fowey, in the distance, with the ruined castle and towers either side of the river entrance. The Buck brothers, Samuel and Nathaniel, are best known for their large format panoramas of major British cities published earlier in the eighteenth century. This fine engraving was published in the smaller format 'Antiquities, or venerable remains of above four hundred castles, monasteries, palaces etc. in England and Wales', published in London between 1726 and 1752.
