An unusual projection showing the Americas, much of the Pacific and, in detail, the West Indies, in two oval projections. The map was engraved by Thomas Bowen and published by F. Newbery, husband of Elizabeth Newbery, one of the leading educational publishers of the period - very early in the history of children's educational printing. The design was created by one J. Hardy - Teacher of Mathematics & Writing Master at Eton College.
