An important chart of the Society Islands, Tahiti and the adjacent islands to eastwards, with the tracks of Cook, Byron, Wallis and Carteret. From the first year of publication of the maps from Cook's first voyage, 1768-1771. This map was published in 1773 in John Hawkesworth's "Account Of The Voyages ... In The Southern Hemisphere", the first official account of Cook's monumental first voyage.
